Background information: Trinidad suffered from severe flooding and animals were stranded. Leptospirosis was a high risk and the veterinary community started vaccinating dogs.
Many farmers lost all their livestock particularly poultry, small ruminants. Flooding is also a frequent disaster in Guyana and other parts of the Caribbean.
